[Studio Layout for Efficiency]

+ Q: Hi Myha, I'm moving into a small city studio apartment in a few weeks. I'm ready for more of an adult look that I can entertain, eat, work and of course sleep. I can't quite picture where everything would go, and what I would need to purchase for an amazing space. Could you please help? [I have provided a photo of the space and the floor plan] Thanks!!

+ A: Congrats on your new space! City living is something that is loved for accessibility and at times hated for close proximity. But you have a wonderful space with great views that can be worked with for your benefit.

The first thing I suggest is choosing a color palette that will open the room, yet have a sophisticated edge. For your room I suggest grays, creams, soft blues, aqua and for a punch of richness a cognac. The next thing to address would be a usable floor plan. Below I have created a floor plan that could work for your space. It has a dining, living room (for multiple guests) and your bedroom. The chairs in the living room are swivel chairs, for conversation or TV watching. The dining space hosts two chairs for eating and/or work and an adjacent buffet for storage. I also would suggest a platform storage bed and a sleeper sofa. In addition I have designed a few 3D renderings and a shopping list to follow. Take your time with your purchases, choose quality pieces that will last for some time. Happy living!
